This song was originally sang by Kim Yeon Woo & TOY back in 1996. This song is still popular nowadays, and many idols have sang this song at their concerts or radio shows.. I first listened to this song was when Kyuhyun sang it at Super Show 3, and I've already fall in love with this song. Then, when L also sang this song at Second Invasion, I think I need to find the real singer, then walla.. I've listen to many of Kim Yeon Woo songs, such as "You're my love", "Fate" & "Closer". On the 13th of October, the single “Shanghai Romance” was released and the track was promoted by Kim Heechul’s close circle of friends. BEAST’s Junhyung, FT Island’s Hongki, Jang Geunsuk and TRAX’s Kim Jungmo promoted Orange Caramel’s new track.

BEAST’s Junhyung updated his Twitter account with a message saying, “Heard that Heenim has composed a song for Orange Caramel is out!? Then shouldn’t everyone go and listen to it immediately?” and this was retweeted by FT Island’s Hongki stating “That’s right”.

The same tweet was also seen by Jang Geunsuk, in which he also added that “The song composed by Space Big Star…. Otherwise Orange Caramel comeback…. Hahahaha” while Kim Jungmo suggested that, “Hope everyone will go and listen to it~”.

Meanwhile, Super Junior’s Siwon also went on to Twitter to show his support for his fellow member. Despite Heechul’s absence in order to complete his mandatory military training, Siwon also promoted the track by saying, "This time, Heechul hyung’s song composed for Orange Caramel’s new album is ‘Shanghai Romance’, hope everyone will show lots of love and attention to it, very curious to what he wrote this time"
